Natalie Velazquez (she/her)

MA, LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor

I strive to create a supportive, collaborative, and inviting atmosphere for all my clients so they are empowered to take steps toward the life they want. I look at therapy and the space it holds as the foundation to all our beginnings; a place to discuss personal aspirations and navigation of life challenges with greater clarity and confidence. I am here to see the authentic you and help to make you feel heard and seen.

My approach to therapy is very person centered in that, I always encourage the exploration of emotions and the client's growth journey which should always be celebrated. I incorporate various theoretical orientations such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Therapy, and Solution Focused as no one approach works for everyone and every situation. I also sprinkle in humor and authenticity to further the therapeutic relationship, build self-esteem, regulate emotions, and develop self-care and coping tools.

I earned my Bachelor's degree in psychology from Northeastern Illinois University and my Master's degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology focusing on counseling psychology. I specialize in the areas of anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, family conflict, life transitions, grief, PTSD, women's issues, and ADHD. I have had the pleasure of working with veterans, LGBTQIA + community, and adolescent's (15 and up), as well as young and older adults.

I am dedicated to ensuring that my clients unique needs are met and tailor each session to this sentiment. If you are having difficulty overcoming life’s many obstacles or you need someone to simply support and or challenge you, look no further I am here to help!  [Supervised by Samantha Ege, LCPC]
