Samantha Heberlein (she/her)
MA, LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor

My name is Samm. I am a liberation therapist that works within a relational-cultural framework and through a trauma informed lens. I believe that our relationships and connection with self and others are the heart of well-being. Many of the barriers we face to our mental and physical well-being are a result of outdated structures, systems and unhealthy generational patterns we do not know how to break. By learning about the systems and patterns that have shaped us and our relationships, collaboratively we will work to identify your strengths as an individual and within your chosen family and community. We will work to change the narratives about the self, strengthen relationships by building empathy, and hold space for sadness and grief.

I obtained my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Michigan State University and my Masters of Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School where I concentrated in BIPOC/Latinx Mental Health. I am passionate about working with female identifying adolescents and adults that are finding difficulty navigating stress, anxiety, sadness, family and relationship conflict, self-esteem, school/sport issues, and more.

My approach is integrative, as each individual's identity and background are unique and important to the approach of treatment. My goal is to provide a safe(r), non-judgmental space for you to explore and process your feelings and to embrace the power of connection and sitting in silence. I look forward to holding space for every piece of you.

My approach: Trauma-Informed, LGBTQIA+ Affirming, Integrative Holistic, Relational-Cultural, Narrative, Anti-Oppressive, Anti-Racist, Anti-Capitalist, Womanist.  [Supervised by Julie Nilsen, LCPC]
